Yamaha Music School (YMS) is a key component of Yamaha Music UK's overall educational strategy and complements the work we do in mainstream music education. YMS has operated since the early 1950s and now operates all over the world. YMS has championed the 'ears-before-eyes' leearning approach, which is as natural as they way we all learnt to speak. It has a strong track record in helping learners of all ages fulfil their dreams or learning to play, in a fun, group learning environment, where playing music with other people is a core benefit.

Yamaha's Ethos

The thriving Yamaha Music School community in the UK teaches around 10,000 students every week, aged from around 4 years to well into retirement. Yamaha Music School lessons are designed to be fun but, at the same time, to take students as far as they wish to go, towards the highest levels of musicianship.

Yamaha Music Schools welcome enquiries from entrepreneurs considering starting their own Yamaha school. The set-up is rather like a franchise in operation, but without the hefty set- up fees. You get access to fantastic Yamaha courses - currently guitar, keyboard, drums, vocal and some wonderful general music courses for younger children - plus help, advice and consultancy from the YMS Head Office Team.
