The Chappell's Lunchtime Concert Series was set up to showcase the very best piano talent from London conservatoires. Now in its seventh season at Chappell's Yamaha London in Wardour Street, it has become a very popular way for London's stressed-out classical music lovers to take a lunchtime break to hear some stunning young classical pianists performing on the world's leading hand-crafted Yamaha pianos, right in the heart of London's West End.
The series organiser, Yamaha Artist Services Europe (London), had previously limited the series to pianists from London conservatoires. But with Yamaha now supporting piano scholarships at conservatoires throughout the UK, this seventh series (now on Thursdays) has been extended to include the very best from Manchester's Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) and Glasgow's Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD). The concerts have received critical acclaim from classical music writers and some of the capital's top musicians, music professors and record labels since they provide outstanding showcase opportunities for the best emerging classical music talent in one of London's most intimate and historic concert settings.
The performances are free of charge and take place in the Recital Hall of Yamaha Artist Services Europe (London), situated within the historic Piano Hall at Chappell's West End Store. Lunchtime recitals commence at 1pm. Evening concerts start around 6pm. Seating is limited so please call in advance to reserve your place or enquire about future performances by calling 020 7432 4439 or email Kumi Liley, Yamaha Artist Services Europe (London), Chappell of Bond Street, 152-160 Wardour Street, London W1F 8Y.
