Artur Pizarro, Murray McLachlan & the AvantGrand N1

Two new videos on YouTube feature top international pianists putting Yamaha's acclaimed AvantGrand N1 hybrid piano through its paces. International concert artist Artur Pizarro and Murray McLachlan, head of keyboards at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester and a tutor at the Royal Northern College of Music, each make the case for the AvantGrand N1, both from a performance and an educational perspective.

One of the key advantages of the AvantGrand N1, according to both artists, is that the instrument feels to the pianist like a real grand piano."This actually is a piano!" says Artur. "It doesn't feel different." This technological breakthrough means that, for the first time, serious piano students can practise and prepare performances with all the nuances they would previously have found only on a top-end concert grand.

Murray speaks about and demonstrates the extensive range of expressive possibilities provided by the N1 and their particular relevance for top-end piano students. Artur, too, points out the fact that the instrument now offers impoverished students the chance to access the expressive power and subtlety of a concert grand piano for practice at home or in their place of study, but for a considerably smaller price tag.

Yamaha's AvantGrand pianos are available in three models, and are particularly suited for teaching and for personal practice for students at all ability levels, from beginner to concert performer standard.

Teachers, institutions or individuals who want to try a piano in the AvantGrand range can find a list of dealers by entering their post code on our dealer locator page.
