One of the competition prizes is this special edition Kemble 'Chopin' piano, worth more than £8,000

Deadline extended to 1 September 2010

2010 marks the 200th anniversary of Frédéric Chopin's birth in Warsaw and to celebrate the occasion Kemble Pianos has launched a brand-new, exciting competition for amateur pianists aged 18-plus, who have a love of Chopin. Competition entries are entirely via YouTube and there are already some very impressive entries which you can see on the Kemble Pianos' YouTube portal.

However, as this is the first year of the competition, the deadline has been extended until 1 September, to allow more people to take part and showcase your performance online. You simply register on the site, video yourself performing your chosen Chopin piece then upload it. You could win a Special Edition Kemble Chopin Piano worth more than £8,000, and a private lesson with Kevin Kenner.

To enter, you must be at least 18 years old and a keen amateur pianist, but not a professional.

The competition judges are: Professor Christopher Elton (head of keyboard, Royal Academy of Music), John Evans (editor of Classic FM magazine) and Kevin Kenner (internationally renowned Chopin performer). For more information on how to apply visit Kemble Pianos' website.
