Fife Summer Jazz Course Tunes Up Before The Event

The acclaimed Fife Summer Jazz Course opens its doors again in St Andrews from 7-11 July 2008. It comprises a series morning, afternoon and evening sessions where you will have the opportunity to work with some of the best jazz tutors in the country with a view to improving and developing standards of playing, public performance and improvisation. Previous jazz experience is not essential for this course but a basic grounding in your chosen instrument(s) would be an advantage.

Course Format

The Fife Jazz Course is a practical course with the emphasis firmly placed upon playing and singing. The theory taught relates to everything played and participants are guaranteed to have their ears and minds opened to the world o improvisation.

Fife Jazz Course Director, Richard Michael, has led this experienced team of tutors for many years and their collective enthusiasm and knowledge is much respected in the world of jazz. Richard is a passionate believer that 'mistakes are cool' and you are invited to come along and make mistakes as loudly and clearly as you want.
