Jamie Cullum (voice, piano)
Jamie Cullum hit the UK jazz scene when in his late teens and hasn't looked back. His talent, which spans piano, singing and songwriting, has helped him clock up an impressive international gig list and Grammy and Golden Globe nominations. His latest CD, The Pursuit, with its blend of jazz and pop, including some beautiful covers of 20th century classic popular songs, has brought him international TV and radio interest since its release in Autumn 2009. A loyal and passionate Yamaha artist, we are always delighted to work with Jamie, whether on stage or in an education context.
Julian Joseph (piano)
Julian Joseph, British international jazz pianist, composer and broadcaster, has become a great collaborator with Yamaha in recent years. He has played a leading role in the 2009-10 Yamaha Jazz Experience project teacher workshops and competition, and joined the judging panel for the competition's finals at Cheltenham Jazz Festival in May 2010. Julian is not only an inspiring performer but also cares deeply about nurturing and guiding the next generation of jazz musicians. His new opera, Shadowball, written for school musicians performing alongside professionals, premieres this summer in East London.
